We are really proud of the piggery project that we managed to set up. February 2020 we were able to purchase a piece of land in the village of Kalungami, Uganda where most of our activities take place. We started with one pig, but now we have manage to expand to multiple pigs. When our adult pigs get piglets, we hand out these piglets to youth who want to rear pigs themselves.
With our piggery project we want to invite youth to show them how they can start something themselves in order to generate an income. We invite them to our land to experience what rearing pigs entails. Furthermore, we give education about starting a business in general and farming in specific. The goal is that when new piglets will be born, we will again hand out the female piglets to some youth in Kalungami so that they can start something themselves. We will be guiding them in this process and want to give them the possibility of developing something for their future.
